This work references Lucio Fontana’s cut paintings. However, similar to her other assemblages, it combines a support from art (canvas and stretchers) with materials that are used in couture (zipper and thread). Obviously, the teeth of the zipper make reference to “vaginal teeth” in mythology, Freudian psychology as well as modern and contemporary art.
